Flowable Fill (CLSM) · Sacramento County
Mixed fresh where Fruitridge Pocket builds.
Flowable fill — controlled low-strength material (CLSM) — is a self-leveling, self-compacting slurry that replaces compacted backfill. It flows into trenches and voids, sets firm enough to support loads, and can be excavated later if the utility ever needs to come back up.
Volumetric batching is ideal for CLSM: quantities are metered on the spot, so a long trench or an odd-shaped void gets filled without guessing truckloads in advance.
Whether it's a weekend homeowner project or a contractor pour on a deadline in Fruitridge Pocket, the process is identical: confirm the mix with dispatch, stage the site, and pour exactly the yardage the job takes. Inspections and pours have to line up: tell dispatch your inspection schedule and the batch window gets planned around the sign-off, not the other way around.
